The Student Tech Work Tracker is a web page rather than an app from the App Store, but you can put it on your home screen so that it opens like one: full screen, with its own icon and no address bar.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open tools.topmusic.co/student-tracker in Safari. It has to be Safari, as Chrome on an iPhone cannot do this.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow coming out of the top.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
On Android
- Open tools.topmusic.co/student-tracker in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots menu.
- Tap Add to Home screen, or Install app on newer versions.
- Confirm.
Signing in from the icon: use the code, not the link
This is the one thing that catches people out, and it is worth knowing before you start.
Your phone treats the home screen icon as a separate place from Safari, and the two do not share a sign-in. So if you tap the sign-in link in your email, it opens Safari and signs you in there, and the icon stays signed out.
The tracker knows when you have opened it from the icon, so the button says Email me a code rather than Email me a sign-in link. The email has a short code in it that looks like KM7-94P. Type or paste that into the tracker and you are in.

Already signed in on your laptop?
You still need to sign in on the icon separately, but your students are already saved to your account, so they appear as soon as you do.
