Signing in to the TopMusic tools lasts 60 days, and every visit starts that 60 days again. If you use the Student Tech Work Tracker most weeks, you should almost never be asked to sign in.
If you are being asked more often than that, it is nearly always one of the following.
Your browser clears cookies when you quit
This is by far the most common cause, and it catches confident, tech-savvy teachers as often as anyone else.
Most browsers have this switched off by default, but it can be turned on for every site, or for one site only. Look in your browser's privacy settings for anything about clearing cookies, site data or browsing history when you close the browser. Allowing tools.topmusic.co to keep its data is all it takes.
If you use a privacy extension or a tidy-up-on-close tool, have a look at that as well.
You are using more than one device
Each device needs its own sign-in, and each one lasts 60 days from that device's own last visit. Signing in on your laptop does not sign you in on your iPad.
That is normal, and nothing is lost either way. Your students are saved to your account, so they appear on every device you sign in on.
You are in a private or incognito window
A private window throws everything away the moment you close it, every time. If the tracker is something you use each week, open it in an ordinary window instead.
You opened it from an icon on your home screen
If you saved the tracker to your home screen and then tapped the sign-in link in your email, that signs you in to Safari rather than to the icon, and the icon stays signed out. The same email has a short code in it for exactly this.
There is more on this in Adding the Student Tracker to your phone's home screen.
Still happening?
Email support@topmusic.co and tell us roughly how often it happens, and which browser and device you are using. We can usually see what is going on from our end, and we would much rather fix it than have you put up with it.
